com This position is an onsite project in Garyville, LA.
Must reside in or near the area.
Position Summary The Process Engineer supports the client in their refinery relief/valve system program.
ResponsibilitiesAct as the single point of contact for the process engineers and other engineering groups for project relief reviews (necessary as part of the Management of Change, MOC, process and Decision Support Packages, DSPs, for new projects).
Evaluate relief impacts and complete relief system calculations as needed.
This may or may not include process simulations and hydraulic calculations.
Work with area engineering team to evaluate all MOCs for potential PSV impact, evaluate existing scenarios, screen new cases, engineer acceptable / cost effective PSV solutions.
Be familiar with the work process and quality policy and apply as appropriate to project.
Update the PSV database as needed (PSPPM, Salus, or hard copy documentation).
Communicate with vendors on sizing, operation, and performance of equipment, includes obtaining quotes for new equipment as required Strong participation in hazard reviews/HAZOP events Participate in planning, cost development and management, and scheduling for assigned project Ensure proper sequence of operation during schedule creation/reviews/updates Ensure project execution is within the approved budget Participate in and contribute to development of all phases of project engineering, including FEED, detailed design, and construction support Responsible for reporting on engineering status to the Lead Engineer and Department Manager, and performing assessments of progress as needed Maintain effective communication with multidiscipline project team members and the client Ensure adherence to company and client specifications and governing codes and standards Ensure adherence to company and client health, safety, security, and environmental (HSSE) requirements, as well as state and federal regulations What you will bring Recognized Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering or related technical field from an accredited college or University required 5
years refinery PSV engineering experience.
At least 2 years of experience with relief valve calculations preferred Knowledge and familiarity of API 521 standards Excellent oral and written communication skills required P.
